PRI Welcomes 2023 Summer Interns

West Babylon, NY – Power Resources International is very proud to introduce their summer interns for 2023, Nicholas Giantomaso and James Reyes. Both are excited to work under PRI’s engineers to hone their talents in a real-world environment.

Nicholas Giantomaso

Nicholas Giantomaso is a mechanical engineering student at Hofstra University with an interest in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and all things HVAC. Nick has a wealth of experience volunteering with his church, including instructing students in religious education classes. He also previously worked at Adventureland where he served as a ride operator and managed a small team on the Turbulence roller coaster. This gave him experience handling tense situations as well as responsibility and leadership towards other people.

While Nick has a fixation on HVAC systems, he is very excited to learn more about automation, controls, and communications engineering from PRI’s various projects. Nick is inspired by his father who is also a mechanical engineer as well as his former boss at Adventureland. In the long term, he wants to start his own engineering firm. In his free time, Nick follows football and is a big fan of the New York Giants.

James Reyes

James Reyes is also a mechanical engineering student, currently studying at New York Institute of Technology. He was inspired by a high school physics teacher who had challenged him to build a car out of a rat trap and became passionate about building things. James has worked many part time jobs, but his most memorable position was as a dietary assistant at Northshore University Hospital where he learned patience, integrity, and morals.

PRI’s culture and the breadth of knowledge of their engineers interests James and makes him excited to work there. Eventually, he also wants to be an entrepreneur and engineer. Family is important to James, and he is very proud of his younger brother and mother. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and tries to challenge himself by trying meals from a variety of cultures.

PRI welcomes both Nick and James and their team looks forward to working with and giving them crucial, real-world experience in the engineering field.
