What’s Happening at PRI
Our History
Power Resources International, Inc. (PRI), a minority-owned business, was founded in 1992 by Joe Diurno and Victor Ancelson. With a desire to stay close to their families in New York, Joe and Victor created the company right out of Joe’s basement in Long Island, NY. Combining their in-depth knowledge of power, controls, automation, and instrumentation, the two were able to satisfy all aspects of early projects with PSEG Long Island (formerly LILCO) and the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR).
As the business grew and additional employees were added to the team, PRI relocated to its current location in West Babylon, NY. The company also expanded its distribution business to include engineering and development projects, ultimately becoming a full system integrator with hardware and software capabilities.
Today, PRI works on varying projects for major companies within the transportation industry, including several entities under the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) such as the LIRR, New York City Transit (NYCT), and Metro-North Railroad. PRI’s engineers specialize in various areas such as SCADA systems, PLC programming, and Network planning, to name a few.
PRI’s ISO 9001:2015-certified facility supports all the company’s engineering, development, sales, procurement, fabrication, and administrative activities.
