Northport VAMC Radio Comm Network Expansion

PRI has designed and fabricated the Radio Communication Network Cabinets for eight different locations at the Northport VA Medical Center on Long Island.

The Radio Communication Network cabinets will take the indications received from their specific locations and transmit the information via the 900 MHz wireless transceivers and antennas to the Boiler Plant. Personnel will then be able to review the information provided from all locations at the Boiler Plant instead of having to drive around the campus to access the data/information. The eight locations include Well Pumps 1-5, Elevated Tank, Booster Pump, and the Boiler Plant.

Back in February 2022, PRI completed a radio survey alongside Phoenix Contact to ensure the customer will be receiving the strongest signal from all locations. The survey confirmed signal strengths and that the main location (the Boiler Plant) will get the necessary information and updates from the individual locations.

Just last month, PRI completed the fabrication of the Radio Communications cabinets. They are set to be installed, tested, and functional by early May 2022.

The Northport VA Medical Center offers a wide range of health, support, and facility services for veterans on Long Island. PRI is thrilled to be assisting in a project that will not only help the Northport VA Medical Center with its day-to-day operations but also the many veterans who visit the Medical Center.
